Meet Ramneek
Ramneek Kaur
Master of Information Technology
My first degree was a Bachelor of Technology in IT and I worked as a software developer in India.
I chose the Masters in Information Technology to accelerate my career and improve my position in the IT sector in New Zealand. What I liked most about the program was that it had a lot to offer in terms of course selection from different IT sectors, and the integrated internship component would give me exposure to become work-ready.
My expectations were fulfilled when I secured an internship at Fidelity Life. I worked on three projects using the Microsoft Power Platform Suite. I successfully helped to create robots which reduced risk, increased efficiency and improved customer service as well as achieving the overall objective of reducing repetitive, time-consuming tasks.
The internship helped me to become familiar and fit in with NZ work culture as well as gaining work experience and networking within the industry.
I have continued working at Fidelity Life and become more confident in both my interpersonal and people skills.
I would say to students thinking about entering the program that its an incredible opportunity to learn and grow both as a person and as a technical professional with good guidance along the way.
Ceren Dogan, Fidelity Life comments:
“Ramneek is such a great advertisement for the Master of Information Technology program. She joined Fidelity Life as an intern and totally exceeded my expectations, both with her attitude and skillset. When a full time RPA developer role came up, I didn’t hesitate to offer it to her and Ramneek is now a key member of our team – which also includes two other MIT graduates.
The MIT program equips candidates with the essential skills they need to succeed in the real world, and I’d encourage all students to make the most of it.”
